MCC Homework

The first of three articles I chose was from Iwantmedia.com titled “Just as important as what iPad can do: What it can't” and obviously it concerns the abilities, or lack thereof, of the iPad. Apple’s new product does not have a flash player, which means that internet videos will not be able to play. One also can’t listen to music while sending an e-mail as well, another main short coming of the iPad. Also, for one to get the 3G network, they would have to buy a new plan even if they have a plan for their iPhone already. These plans start at $15 per month as well, which only adds insult to injury, as the iPad will run someone $400 at the cheapest and over $800 at its most expensive. So even though the iPad is considered by some to be state of the art, it does have its shortcomings.
The second of three articles I chose was from gizmodo.com titled “Logitech Touch Mouse App Turns iPhones Into a Trackpad and Keyboard, for Free”. It describes an app which uses Wi-Fi to turn the iPhone into a wireless trackpad and keyboard for your PC or Mac. It supports two finger scrolling, landscape/portrait virtual trackpads and keyboards and the choice of either two or three mouse buttons. Even though it’s not revolutionary, it is fairly simple to use and it is free.
The third article is one that intrigues me more than any other article I’ve seen, and its not solely because of the technology. Coming also from gizmodo.com, it is titled “Stephen Colbert Delivers Grammy for Song of the Year From His New Apple iPad”. The article is self explanatory, comedian Steven Colbert pulled out his iPad to announce the Song of the Year winner instead of using that special envelope. As a huge Steven Colbert fan, I simply had to include this article.
